privacy notice
In short: we only hold the information you choose to share with us, we use it only for the reason you shared it, and you can complain to us directly if that ever falls short.

who we are
This website, hushri.com, is operated by Nadine Benjamin, trading as hushri (Nadine Benjamin t/a hushri), a sole trader based in the United Kingdom. For any data protection query, email dp@hushri.com or use our contact form. (Our full trading address is being added here; if you need it sooner, use the contact form and we will send it.)
information we collect
We do not collect personal information simply as you browse, beyond the routine technical data described below. We only receive further information when you choose to send it:
- Contact form and email: your name, email and message.
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address and a record of that consent (the wording you agreed to, where you signed up, and when).
- Register interest (work with us): your name, email and anything you add.
- Membership request: your name, email, an age confirmation, your chosen tier, and anything optional you add, such as a phone number, a name for the gratitude wall, or a message.
- A community account, if you create one: your name, email address, a securely hashed password (never the password itself), the date you agreed to the community guidelines, and anything you choose to add to your profile, such as a short bio, a rough location or a photograph. We also hold what you post: your posts, replies, reactions, badges, any report you send us about someone else's post, and anyone you have blocked. Reports name you to us so we can follow them up; they never name you to the person you reported.
- Ask hushri, our on-page helper: your conversation with it stays in your own browser and is not sent to us. Two things you can choose to send are: a question you ask us to pass to a real person, which sends your question and the email address you give us through our own server-side service, and a sign-up for updates, which sends your email address to Resend, the same way as the newsletter sign-up described below.
- Routine technical data: our hosting and analytics providers process standard web request data (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) to serve pages, keep the site secure, and produce aggregate usage statistics. This is not linked back to you personally.
Our free guides, printables, tools and soundscapes never ask for an email address, a sign-up or an account, and they never will. An account is only ever for the community.
who processes it on our behalf
We use a small number of specialist providers, each acting as our data processor for that specific job:
- Cloudflare hosts hushri.com, keeps it secure, provides Cloudflare Web Analytics (aggregate, cookieless usage statistics, see our cookies page), checks newsletter, contact and work-with-us submissions with Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish genuine visitors from automated abuse, and runs the small server-side service that receives every form on the site (newsletter, contact, membership, "work with us" and Ask hushri’s question-for-a-person form) and passes it to Resend.
- Resend sends the emails the community account system has to send (your confirmation email, a password reset, and a one-tap sign-in link if you ask for one); delivers your contact, membership, "work with us" and assistant question-for-a-person messages to us by email, with your address set as the reply-to so we can answer you directly; and, if you sign up for our newsletter, holds your email address so we can send the occasional update you asked for. It receives your email address, and the content of your message where relevant. You can unsubscribe from newsletter emails at any time, using the link in any update we send or by emailing us.
- Stripe processes membership payments; hushri does not see or store your card details.
Where a provider is based outside the UK or EU, it does so under that provider's published data protection and international transfer safeguards (such as the UK's International Data Transfer Addendum or equivalent standard contractual clauses); each provider's own privacy notice has the full detail.
how we use it, and our lawful basis
We use your details only to reply to you, to send updates you have asked for, to process a membership request and arrange payment, or to contact you about a role you registered interest in. Where we send you updates, our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by emailing us or using the unsubscribe route in any update we send. For replies, membership requests and role enquiries, our basis is our legitimate interest in responding to you, or taking steps at your request before any membership begins. For routine technical and security data, our basis is our legitimate interest in keeping hushri working and secure. For running a community account, our basis is the contract between us that begins when you agree to the community guidelines and join. For moderating what is posted, including reports and blocks, our basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the community safe for the people in it, and, where the Online Safety Act 2023 applies to us, our legal obligation.
how long we keep it
We keep contact and "work with us" messages for up to 12 months after our last exchange with you, then delete them. Messages held by our enquiry spam filter are kept separately for seven days, then automatically expire. We keep newsletter sign-up details, including consent records, until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them. We keep membership request details for as long as your membership is active and for up to 6 years afterwards, to meet our accounting and tax obligations. Community account details and what you have posted are kept while your account is open; you can download everything we hold, or delete your account, yourself and at any time from your membership page, and deleting the account removes your posts and replies with it. We keep moderation reports and the record of any action taken for 12 months after the report is closed, so that a pattern of behaviour can be recognised. You can ask us to delete information sooner where the law allows.
age and who this site is for
hushri is intended for adults. Our content, tools and features are not designed for, or directed at, children. By using this site or submitting any form, you confirm that you are 18 or over, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher. The age of majority is 18 in the United Kingdom, and can be older in some places, including parts of the United States.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If you believe a minor has shared information with us, please use the contact form and we will delete it. Where we share guidance about children, it is written for parents and carers, not for children to use themselves.
cookies and analytics
If you sign in to the community, we set one strictly necessary cookie so the site knows it is still you as you move between pages. It holds nothing but a random session reference, it is not used to track you or to advertise, and it goes when you sign out. Nothing else on hushri sets a cookie.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how the site is used. It is privacy-friendly, sets no cookies, does not identify you, and does not load unless you allow it. You can change that choice from your device at any time. We also use Google Search Console to see how hushri appears in search, which uses aggregate search data and sets no cookies on your device. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Small preferences, such as light or dark mode, are kept in your own browser. See our cookies page for the full detail and analytics control.
links to other sites
Our pages link to YouTube and may link elsewhere. Once you follow a link, that site's own privacy policy applies, not ours.
your rights, and how to complain
Under UK data protection law you have rights over your information, including to ask what we hold, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to some processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these, or to raise a complaint about how we have handled your information, use the contact form and begin your message with "data complaint". We will acknowledge any data protection complaint within 30 days, then look into it and respond as soon as we reasonably can, telling you what we found and what, if anything, we are doing about it. If you are not satisfied with our response, or would rather raise it independently, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
changes to this notice
We may update this notice as hushri grows. When we do, we will change the date above.
